“Club Chameleon Gives Back”:

The Saturday Respite Program, Club Chameleon, is giving back to the community through several unique projects. Megan Corlis, a high school aged volunteer and Girl Scout, helped find different arts and craft projects that could benefit others for the September six-week session. The “members” who come to the Club on Saturday mornings have donated homemade dog biscuits to an animal shelter; created picture frames for a nursing home; made cards and patriotic keepsakes for our troops overseas; and are putting together a quilt for Project Linus—a non-profit organization that provides quilts to seriously ill children. Working towards receiving the Gold Award for Girl Scouts, Megan helps plan and prepare the project for each week under the guidance of Enable’s staff. Her work has included purchasing supplies, organizing materials and taking photos as the projects occur. Megan plans to put the photos into a slide show for Enable’s future use to market Club Chameleon. The participants feel good about giving to the community as well as helping Megan with her project. Club Chameleon’s next six-week session begins on November 7th. For more information on volunteering or attending Club Chameleon, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
