Enable welcomes college and graduate students who are looking for an internship opportunity. There are lots of possibilities for working together to meet your goals and our goals.

We have accepted students from Rutgers University, School of Social Work, the Elizabeth M. Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities under the UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and Princeton Theological Seminary. We have accepted students in work-study programs. We prefer to accept students who can commit to a placement from September through May although we will consider single semester and summer placements.

Top characteristics we are looking for include:

• responsible
• reliable
• good communication skills
• good computer skills

We have a wide range of work assignments. Here are some possibilities:

• coordinating involvement of community groups who volunteer for days of service in our programs which includes telephone and email contacts, linking volunteers and programs, and tracking efforts.
• helping with fund raising efforts by helping create materials, work leading up to the event and working at the event OR other efforts such as researching and writing grants.
• helping with marketing and communications such as writing newsletters, helping maintain the web site, placing press releases and coordinating media opportunities.
• assisting with continuous quality improvement efforts such as conducting and summarizing consumer satisfaction surveys, analyzing data, performance indicators and outcome measures and then preparing reports for internal and external use.
• working with a program to provide or help arrange recreational and social activities.
